Brushing & Flossing

Keeping the mouth clean is important at all times, the importance increases when you are wearing braces. Your toothbrush will wear out faster, so be sure to replace it whenever the bristles start to spread. We always have a supply of excellent brushes and we will be happy to give you a new one at any time. A waterpik can be a useful addition but it cannot remove the sticky plaque that adheres to the teeth so keep that toothbrush handy.

Whatever you do, do not leave out flossing, it is the companion of good brushing.

Orthodontic visits do not take the place of dental visits. It is extremely important to continue 4 to 6-month checkup appointments with your general dentist, that is a lifetime relationship and one that is crucial to your overall health. If for some reason you do not have a dentist or you are new to the area, Dr. Martin would be happy to recommend someone for your family.

TAKE THE TIME TO CARE FOR YOUR TEETH AND THEY WILL LAST A LIFETIME.
